The End Of One's Journey

By Rayhana

Oh dear son of Adam, when your time is finally up
It is called upon, not a second less but on time, sharp
Be it in the rough sea or a warring agony
Or simply lying on bed as if awaiting destiny
For every soul that breathes and lives
Will one day resort to his final resting place

Shrouded with richness, basking in great wealth
Frolicking with every penny in loudness and in stealth
Heaven on earth as we call it, is indeed a test
To either bring contentment or doom in the next quest
For worldly beings and things are meaningless six feet under
Unless we are not wasteful, pay due zaqah and generous to the poor

Never walk on earth cloaked in arrogance and hostility
Lest we invoke wrath and displeasure of the Almighty
For every deed is reckoned with on the Day of Accountability
Instead, subservience to Allah with all humility and sincerity
Kindness to other souls, advocates good deeds and honesty
Ultimately their abodes will bedecked with everything nice and glittery

As Sabru (Patience)

By Rayhana

A virtue of piety so rare and pure with serenity
Transpired from the heart as sincere as can be
Void of despair, regrets and anything from bad domain
Hard to attain but once gained, hold steadfast to maintain

Coupled with total acceptance without hesitation
Nor wallow in sorrow, anger or trepidation
For Almighty's tests a show of His various manifests
That encapsulate His love, our ultimate quest

It was never promised that life's a bed of roses
For it is laden with copious trials and challenges
But if we embrace it as per the Quranic verses
We'll find it's full of beauty, colour and sweetness

Thus acquire patience with your all and might
For you'll be granted with countless more 'nikmat'
And Almighty's pleasure will be shown all bright
Even the envy of angels are also in sight

Menuju Al-Haram

Nukilan: Rayhana

Debu halus berterbangan menyelubungi setiap inci
menerjah menusuk bola mataku tanpa henti
demi pembangunan pesat di sana sini
bagi menampung bilangan yang semakin meninggi

Sang mentari pula menyinar rakus
namun langkah kugagahkan terus

setiap insan berpusu-pusu mengorak langkah
menuju Al-Haram terletaknya Baitullah
mencari ruang untuk bersolah bersama jemaah
menghadap qiblah yang satu itulah Kaabah

The Holy Maqam

By Rayhana

Within the vicinity of the auspicious An-Nabawi
lies a great soul, the greatest of all mankind, ever
for he is Muhammad, the Lord's last messenger
our beloved Rasulullah, may peace be upon him, forever

Oh dear Prophet, Ya Rasulullah Ya Habibullah
we've come from far and near, to give you Salaam
though we have never even met
yet we feel you, we love you and we long for you
for you are surely the best ever lived

Tears rolled down incessantly
just as we set eyes on the holy 'maqam'
our body and soul prostrated within your 'raudhah'
ardently hoping for your 'syufaah' on the 'Day of Judgement'
oh dear Prophet, peace be unto you...

The One & Only An-Nabawi

By Rayhana

Walking down the streets of Medina earnestly
unperturbed by the sweltering, scorching summer heat
traders lining up greeting and grinning broadly
some even called us up in persuasion
while others simply gestured with anticipation
few stopped by, keen to hear and see further
while mostly kept walking on without hesitation
for their intention was one and only
to witness the great An-Nabawi and all that lie within.

Stepping on its marble-adorned doorstep for the first time
the majestic structure and its aura loomed graciously
making every soul gasped in awe and amazement
some even got teary-eyed in happiness and thankfulness
for where the minarets met the skyline
an amazing 'nur' seemed to transpire incredibly
welcoming the Lord's guests that came incessantly

Men and women came in droves from all directions
to submit before our Lord Almighty in prostration
reciting the Holy Quran while awaiting the call of 'adzan'
to perform 'solah' in mass congregation
for every solah performed in An-Nabawi
is granted a thousand times more than
anywhere else within the earth vicinity
with the exception of Al-Haram and all its entirety.

The Clock Tower

By Rayhana

Clad in praying attires of variety and taste
heading to the arcade in haste or a laid-back pace
browsing eargerly through the aisles
hunting for the one that catches the eye
suiting the whims that's hard to pacify
for when it burns a hole right through to the thigh
that's when the bargaining stops as it clearly signifies.

Thousands throng to the mall from all directions
once prayers are accomplished in congregation
seeking for something big or small but rather significant
for the loved ones left behind as a token of remembrance
others simply scout to satisfy their hunger pangs and anticipation
or merely to unwind while seeping tea at the food junction

Night of Bliss

By Rayhana

In the still and quietness of the night
where the glimmer of dawn is still far from sight
and the birds and the bees
are still resting from a day's flight
and so many others are snuggling tight

A humble servant of God Almighty
detaches himself from the luxury of a blissful sleep
and the softness of his satin sheet
just so to submit before God in prostration
body and soul cleansed with ablution
Tahajjud and Taubah, the solah to perform
reciting the Holy Quran and zikrullah all night long

Angels from above come in droves
to witness these great acts by this pious soul
who humbly sheds tears in sublimation
For fear of the wrath on the day of resurrection
while fervently hopes for God's grace and forgiveness
And God, the most Merciful says, He forbids the fire of hell
from touching those eyes that weep in such stance
Hence, winning Jannah, the ultimate abode is never by chance.
